Common-spotted Orchid:

UK Status: Resident.

Appx Height: 30cm to 60cm tall.

Flowering: Period: Between May through to late August, or early September..

Habitat: This plant is to be found in old quarries, woodland clearings and rides, roadside verges, railways banks, old sand dunes where ever the soil is right for them. It is probably the most common of the native British orchids.

Comment: In the British Isles it is quite common and wide spread in suitable soil types. It is scarcer in Scotland. This plant can thickly carpet large areas in some places in which it grows.
