Winter Aconite:

UK Status: An introduced plant in Britain, that has become wild, and naturalised in some places. It is however a native to France, Italy and the Balkans.

Flowering Period: From late January to March.

Appx Height: 10cm to 15cm. 

Habitat: This is a plant of wooded areas, though are also found in parks, gardens and grasslands.

Comment: This is a member of the Buttercup family, and is a cheerful sight in late winter and spring.
